Joining SoberSis was a turning point for me. Before that, my mind was stuck in a “decision prison”. I felt torn between wanting to drink and wanting to cut back. This conflict made me anxious and stressed. My attempts to moderate my drinking often fell apart. During the 21-Day-Reset I learned the brain science and why it’s so hard to moderate with an addictive substance that creates a desire for itself. One big lie alcohol tells us is, “Just have 1 or 2.” But those small sips often lead us right back into trouble. For me, the back-and-forth struggle - alternating between not drinking and trying to enjoy just a little - was far more exhausting than simply choosing to abstain. We support each other and celebrate small wins, which makes the process so much easier.

The sense of freedom is unfathomable until you have it. You know you want to make a change and the habit is not healthy but what you gain when you do, is beyond anything you thought it could be! Once you have clarity and the beauty that goes with it, you don't ever want to lose that again!

What the alcohol-free lifestyle has given me is everything alcohol promised but never delivered — clarity, confidence, freedom, and the grace to truly know myself.

Sober Sis is a like minded community of women who want to be the best versions of themselves by cutting back or totally removing alcohol from their diets. Sober Sis provides educational books, guest speakers and a community of women to support you in your alcohol free journey. There is no judgement. We are here to support each other. Some women have a linear journey of totally removing alcohol from their lives and others it’s in a series of steps. It’s not about perfection. What’s worked for me is to remember my WHY and all the good things an alcohol free life does for me mentally and physically.
